Electron microscope photographs such as SEM or TEM are indispensable for research and development, and quality control. Every year the need to create data and analyze the particle size and shape factor obtained from a photographed particle group image is increasing. The Particle Size Distribution Analysis SoftwareMac-View specializes in analysis and control of powder and is a really practical and user friendly image analysis tool for powders.

■ Recognizes particle shapes from particle images and photographs and outputs various types of data and particle size distribution

Mac-View imports particle shapes from particle photograph and image data files, therefore, if a scale is shown, any particle photograph can be measured. For this reason, there is no upper or lower limit for the measurement range.

Bitmap and JPEG format files can be read without any modification; printed photographs can be read directly from software by using a scanner.

■ Equipped with a wide range of particle recognition tools allowing rapid and precise measurement.

The particle automatic recognition function sets detection conditions such as detection sensitivity, detection certainty and scan interval; scans the entire or set range of a photograph; and detects particles automatically.

A variety of different tools capable of recognizing many kinds of particles:
Easy tool - automatically detects and recognizes the border of a particle by clicking around the center of the particle;
Chaining tool - chains adjoining particles that were mistakenly recognized as several particles due to their shape and now recognizes them as one particle;
Point tool - recognizes a particle by linking clicked points, effective for recognizing needle crystals; and
Pen tool - recognizes a particle by directly tracing the shape of the particle with a liquid crystal pentablet (option)

■ When a particle is recognized, the particle size distribution is instantly displayed. Equipped with a wide range of analysis functions.

After particle recognition has finished and the sample name and other information are entered, particle size distribution data can be displayed in a moment. Distribution can be checked both by graph and data.

In addition to the aspect ratio and circularity of each particle, a wide variety of analysis functions such as particle size %, ON/PASS, conversion or comparison of volume, number of particles and length, data mixing* and analysis of various shape factors are included.

Size class, sieving up and down and distribution format can also be changed in an instant; these are incorporated immediately into displayed data.

An overlapped graph with several distribution formats and different settings for one data item can be displayed. Most of the analysis items and photographic images can be quickly checked in one window by switching over tabs.
